Just block the number your self on your cell phone problem solved

If you didn't apply for a bank card/credit card from them then there is a do not call list at www.Innte-dncl.gc.ca and it should take a month or two but it could help these annoying and harassing phone calls!

This # calls me daily,they say they r calling on behalf of scotia bank,trying to sell us insurance,I have asked them to take my # off and I am not interested but continue to call,it is so annoying

This is a company that has been hired by the Scotia group of companies. To be removed from their call list, A) answer the call and ask to be removed, or B) call the number back, you will ALWAYS get a voicemail recording. press "0" and when the CSR answers asked to be removed and give your number to them, and you will be removed within 48 hrs.** you may still receive a call within this time frame, be patient!**

Yes there is.  Sign up for the 'do not call list', and report them every time they call you (after the 31 day wait time).  Currently (for 2009, 2010), the CRTC has outstanding AMP's (fines) in the amount of $195,000.00 (or more) plus outstanding interest.  This does not stop some calls, but you are able to be put on their "in-house" do not call list, which they must also honor. (same wait time).  After the wait time, you can also report them to the CRTC.  (Bell Canada recently paid a $1.3 million dollar AMP).

*CRTC can only regulate calls from Canada (or calls requested by Canadian companies), as far as I know.

I get these calls too - it is harassment but some poor schmuck is just doing their job.  No point in getting angry or being rude.  I just did a call block on their number - voila - problem solved!
