I told them I dont have family that needs to claim my life insurance, and have prearraged my funeral, and that I dont bank at a bank. They shut up, but still call. :(

No message left

They called me at around 9:30pm on a weekday in Ottawa... I didn't give them a chance to tell me who they were. When they mispronounced my name I hung up. Also when I picked up, it's as if I was calling them, some kind of queue. No waay this is a legitimate call on behalf of Scotiabank. What company calls after 5 pm?? I would believe that this is a scam.

Saw this number on my call display, but I was out when they called and no message was left on my answering machine.

Calls every other day, shown as UNKNOWN caller, never leave message either  I don't answer # if I don't recognize.

I've been getting calls as well. I never pick up on the first ring so that all calls are logged.As for why they are not there when you answer... they use an auto dialer, which dials multiple phone numbers at the same time. The first one to pick up, is the one that gets the live person, the others are hung up on. Annoying as hell, but it is one less person a company needs to hire.

THEY ARE NOT I repeat NOT with Scotiabank!  I spoke to head office and I spoke to my branch and SCOTIABANK clearly stated This compnay is a FRAUD! Do NOT give them any personal information!
This is the new fraud tatic that these scammers are using to try and gain access to your account!  They got your card number and they trying to access your account to steal your money!
