Just came across this thread. A few years ago (March/April 2010) I received a similar email from a "Wu Gregoery" wanting to buy a $100,000,000 condo from me sight unseen. It sounded fishy from the start but I told them (standard procedure) they'd have to send a contract deposit for $10,000 (10% of the purchase price) to lock in the property. After some back and forth emails, they soon sent me a (fake) check from AXA Insurance (CANADA) for $96,000! "Mr. Green Sound" was the alleged account manager. The explanation for the BIG $86,000 difference was (and here's the best part) the that they wanted me to purchase for them:"Chinese home style furniture, Chinese style home entertainment, Chinese home decoration and Chinese kitchen appliance in Japan that I will be bringing to this property I love my tradition and I want my home to look like little China Mansion."Cracks me up every time I re-read the emails!

Same game, different names. Now it's "Wang Tao" and the number is for his attorney, Edward Brown.

Thank you SO much for posting this! So how did you find out that this deal was fraudulent.. did the check not clear? I have a client right now in Kona, Hawaii, same situation with Mr. Green Sound as the stock broker, and a $150,000 check on a $550k house in cash - interestingly, he made it out to the wrong escrow company and had to be re-cut, but it's being sent now.. why would they tie up their money in escrow like that? They sent more than was required on the contract, so I'm going to try and call the full amount forward and see what happens.. thanks again for posting! Blessings from Hawaii anyway! *:D

Guess what? This Jackson character and his "Buyer Partner:, Iwao, have trid me in Seattle too.
Same story: send him copies of listings and picks one out in minutes, and offers buyfull price-----well, youknow the rest Jackson's checks are like a three dollar bill. Beware!!
I am a Realtor, too, you've guessed.

"Got an email from Otake Iwao claiming to want to buy property anywhere in SC. I sent him some listing to look at and in 5 minutes he picked one and wanted to buy it unseen and wanted a bunch of information on where his deposit would be deposited. He had an account manager and said he wanted funds available before he arrived in 4 weeks."
I received the same email on May 27. I am a Realtor as well.
