I am in Hawaii too and no one buys real estate like this.  They contacted me a few days ago.  They are not tying up money because you will probqably find that the check is not good.  Please update when you have more info,  I plan to ignore this person who wants to send me a check for property sight unseen who knows much more about how we work than even an above average buyer.  It smells like a big scam.

Got emails from a Mr. So Li, supposedly a Canadian resident wanting to buy a property in North Idaho sight unseen for 425K. Gave this phone number as his account manager Mr. Paul Jackson.  Too good to be true.....even sent bank statement with balance of $2.9mil, drivers license and social insurance card.

All of this just happend to me too!  What a waste....They should put so much effort into a real job and EARN REAL Money...

Same game, different names. Now it's "Wang Tao" and the number is for his attorney, Edward Brown.Sigh...
