This number leaves me voice mails costing me every time time they do it. Is it possible to block a number such as this one?

(416) 822-1142 is the number displayed by Rogers on PayAsYouGo accounts for any incoming voicemail calls - whether the caller leaves a message or not (transaction history does not show the # of the incoming caller - need to cross reference the transaction history to your phone incoming call history/received calls). If the caller does not leave a voicemail message (ie. a telemarketer or a wrong number dialed) it still registers as a call & subsequent 25 cent charge. As long as your voicemail system answers the caller (ie. caller hears it's a voicemail & not a real person) there is a charge. So, if your VM is set-up or not it doesn't matter ! The telephone system (aka a computer) can't determine if an incoming call is legitimate or not. It happens to me and I don't like it either, but at least someone at Rogers could explain it to me !Cheers. PS - trust me, Bell is no better ! (Bell & Rogers own all the cell service offered - is that called a twin-opoly ? Very Canadian)

I have this number 6 TIMES on my Rogers bill for Sept 2011 while I was in Chicago. I never called this number and I don't know who the hell this person is. I called Rogers cell phone billing, the Representative Sarah does not want to help me to find out what is happening and is not even forwarding my call to any supervisor on duty. She refused to help me further on this issue and insists that I should pay the bill. When I google then I see many other consumer victim of the same number and same type of problem. I dont know where to report this and what to do. But I am sure this is a scam. My greatest fear is hopefully this number doesnt belong to some drug or mafia group. God help Rogers to be friendly

The same thing happened to me as well as my mother and after closly looking over both our transaction records, i concluded why these charges happen. Neither myself or my mom have set up voice mail however we both have it set to active on our pay asgo accounts. So when someone calls your phone and you dont answer it, rogers still charges you for one minute of time. This is stupid seeing as you just havnt gottin around to setting up your voice mail. They should have mentioned it at activation really.
