This number is for TCR or Bernard Gassee who is a debt collector. They'll harrass the hell out of you and tell you anything to make you pay. NEVER pay a settlement amount without getting a settlement letter in writing before you pay a dime. If nit they'll just say that its a payment against the whole balance. Their "agents" are largely under-educated mouthpieces who wok for $10-12 bucks an hour plus commission on what they get from you. Remember, they buy these debts for pennies on the dollar and reap the reward. Look out for a Ms. Thomas, she's a psycho, real piece of work. STAY CLEAR of these people.

They have been calling at 5:30 am. I thought that was also illegal??

This is Total Debt Recovery, they are [***]. They call saying it is a lawyer's firm and it isn't. They do sue there own accounts but the way they do it is nasty. They are threatening legal on me for 180.00, love to see the do it cause it is under the base amount for legal.I have called them and fought with them on the phone but they don't give. I asked for collection license number to report him and they will not give it. I then contacted the ministry that does the license and told them they have no intentions of pursuing this debt legal and they refuse to give there license number. The ministry is looking into it and they will be charged.

Collection Agencies are not law firms or government agencies but individuals who attempt to recover debt owed on behalf of third parties. Collection Agencies are regulated by the Provincial Government in the province they operate. In most cases you must serve notice by fax or registered letter advising the Collection's Company from contacting you any further. Once served it is an offence under law for the Collections Agency or it's representatives to contact you further.

I had a call from this number aswell and he was asking for personal information like my date of birth and phone number and I told him he was a moron because he obviously had my phone number and I hung upon him
