This is very annoying! If a message is so important,you would not be put on hold. Now,even when this number shows up,I never answer and my answering machine is always on,but they never leave a message. I have already put a complaint in with the Head Office about another phone number that kept calling. So now,if I do not recognize a number-forget it! There is always the Post Office and if it is so important,they can mail me the information.Then I would check that out with my local branch too,before submitting anything to the writer!

ps I have a Scene card but no Scotiabank acct.

Just had a phone call from this number and I know 100% it was not a scam they left a message saying my credit card had been comprimised. I phoned in the number on the scotiabank site because the office was closed until Monday morning for the number on the back of the card. They informed me my card had been comprimised and duplicated. They have blocked the card and are issuing a new one.

Just got a call from that same number. I could not answer (fortunately). when I called to see who is calling I got an automated message from Scotia Bank. Seems to be a scam.Hopefully, they will not call back

You don't sound too smart. This is a Phishing Expedition. Just because you called the number back and the recording says that it is Scotabank doesn't mean that it is. I spoke directly to Scotiabank head office and they told me that this phone number DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM SO BE CAREFUL OF SHARING ANY INFORMATION AT ALL WITH ANYONE CALLING FROM THIS NUMBER. They told me that Scotabank does not do business in this manner. If they find that there is any issue at all with your personal account, business account, credit card or debit card then they ask you to go into your branch to resolve the issue. They never ask for personal and confidential information over the phone.The person perpetrating this fraud called herself Anita and all the information she threw at me was completely incorrect. I would not give her anything at all and then called Scotiabank directly to see if this is some kind of fraud. they are now having the Securities Commission investigate this.

Received a call from this number. Didn't pick up but received a voicemail. The voicemail was an automated message from Scotiabank. It was a reminder to validate the new debit card I had received in the mail recently. I did indeed receive a new card and it had not been validated.
