Called @ 11:40pm, went to voice-mail dead air for about 1 minute.

Got a call today - Jan 22 2014 - to my toll free business line.  They said they were interested in learning more about the business but abruptly hung up after extracting some information.

Claimed to be merchant needing merchant services and a wireless debit machine. He quoted that he got cheaper rate from moneris at $55. 00 per month as rental. Gave phone # as (705) 309-3922

2 calls from this number today. no answer. nobody talking on the other end.

This is a skype or some other voip number. The caller will likely never even know this is the number theyre calling from.As far as calls dropping, it's really nothing suspicious, especially when you consider they might be using their mobile data in an area with poor reception.Don't be alarmed, but scammers do use this number, as the other posts indicate, because it is likely skype, and anyone with a skype account and a few bucks can call internationally with its.
