just called the number jada provided and got my name taken off. we'll see if they actually take it off.

I just added my number/adress to the Canadian Marketing Association ‘do not contact service’ http://www.the-cma.org/?WCE=C=47|K=224217 (but it may take 6-weeks to take affect (apparently, the government-run National Do Not Call List will be up and running on Sept. 30, 2008).
also called this Dillon gentleman at '2 the point' (416) 736-0699) and he has added our number to their 'DNT' (do not call) list. He was very pleasant to deal with!

these numbers buy you're information from third parties, like if you use facebook applications any info you have put on your account name email and phone number will be sold to telemarketers

don't give your info to anyone, even if they just have one piece like you're last name or your email they can find out a lot of stuff about you, what you buy, who you call, it's messed up.

call the number back, and if they pick up tell them you want your number off the list
