I have been getting calls several times daily and we are fed up. this is only one of the annoying calls we get. We do not answer these calls, so just take us off your call list.

I went back and read the Do Not Call list rules. Newspaper subscription companies are exempt from the rules. Charities too. Oh, well, at least some of the annoying people have been stopped.

It's so easy for a telemarketer to predict whether you're interested or not just from your greeting, because upon picking up the unknown call, you're already thinking it might be a telemarketer and therefore adjust your greeting tone based on how you feel about them.  A slightly cold or negative tone of voice tells them you're not interested, and a slightly warm or positive tone means that you are.  But then again, you might not realize that it might be a telemarketer, greeting them in a positive tone because you're just having a good day.  Of course this usually just happens to younger people - who fall for it too, like I did a few times: for a credit card, travel insurance, a movie club, and some coupon club called AtHome which wasn't so bad really.  I think the first one was a Columbia House subscription, through some other form of marketing, but I don't regret that one because now I love music.  I must say though, that this strategy by the telemarketers is flawed because of course we're gonna act kinda cold to some stranger calling our number; next time talk you goons cuz maybe I wanna do some tele-shopping even though I might sound uninterested to you, dumbasses.
