I went back and read the Do Not Call list rules. Newspaper subscription companies are exempt from the rules. Charities too. Oh, well, at least some of the annoying people have been stopped.

i just called this number back and had them remove me from their llist..they told me its an automatic computer call center...

Also relevant sometime; unscrupulous telemarketers and surveyors' employees race through a phone-number list without waiting to talk because they get paid according to their call volume. They're not monitored closely enough.
