Regarding the incessant prank calls seemingly placed to every corner of the province of Ontario by the telephone number (416) 439-7445:

This individual is quite fortunate that I no longer reside in Toronto as I would visit his address and deal with him (verbally) in-person.

Since the telephone service providers we pay through the nose for their services won't assist us in deal with this prat I think that we (his victims) should snail-mail him notifications of stern displeasure of his time-wasting pranks and knowledge of his physical address.  Sometimes intimidation can work toward the positive.

A few other ideas:
1) since I only receive dead-air calls, this may be a hacker with a computerized random dialer,
2) free long-distance scammer searching for unattended lines with a "yes, operator, I will accept the charge" outgoing message on the voicemail or answering machine,
3) the caller may be using a spoofcard and typing in a telephone number other than his own to show up on our Caller I.D./Call display monitors.

Please, let's work together on this; keep all of us informed here.  Thanks.


Hopefully he will lose interest in this petty game shortly!

Just called me at 1:29pm  - Feb 24.2010

Answered - no response, then hung up !

I'm in Ontario, North of TO and recieved a call from this guy asking for Mr. or Mrs.  I'm not even the one who lives here but answered the call.   I said the people are on Hoildays and then the phone went silent.  Weird..............no click or anything.....just went silent.   If there are this many people with the same problem with this number, why doesnt Bell or whoever do something.

FOLLOW UP:I contacted Bell Canada @ 310-BELL and put in this phone number, it forwarded me to bell business - meaning it is a bell canada line - they wouldn't allow me to flag the account - said my only option was to add my number to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY - yes the same one with virtually no oversight and the government gives out to non-profits and the like - not a viable solution. I suggest you all call in to 310-BELL and when it prompts you for your phone number, input the (416) 439-7445 number, and complain to your representative about harassment.  I told them that there are SEVERAL sites like this that have this number listed - and they don't seem to care at all.  Hope this helps someone else

The person called and my husband answered. The caller asked "Mr. or Mrs.xxxx?" and my husband said, "This is Mr. xxxx". The caller (a male) said, "Oh, good," and hung up. Very strange. When we called the number back two separate times: the first time, we got a busy signal. The second time, much later, the phone just kept ringing, and there was no answer.
