Silent call no one talking and hung up

Got two calls this week, one i didn't answer the second I did. Of course no one on the line. I think it's a systematic way to develop a calling list based on phone numbers that where people answer the call, it can be then used or sold for tele-marketing.  Although that wouldn't explain call backs after someone has answered. Unless they are trying to develop a call list based on a target group Male or Female. Either way it's ridiculous, I blocked the number on my phone.

I'm in Ontario, North of TO and recieved a call from this guy asking for Mr. or Mrs.  I'm not even the one who lives here but answered the call.   I said the people are on Hoildays and then the phone went silent.  Weird..............no click or anything.....just went silent.   If there are this many people with the same problem with this number, why doesnt Bell or whoever do something.

had a silent call from this number as others have.the police are monitoring now.

Phoned me once so far today. Didn't pick up, no msg. left just static recording.

(416) 439-7335This number is a land line based in Toronto, On and is unpublished. that's what my phone company told me it's also bell number
