I also called it back it just rang and rang nobody picked up when it calls me nobody speaks and they stay on the line for a few minutes before they hang up this number is calling between 7am til 2am I called my phone company which is cogeco they told me i could get call trace but i have to pay and extra 35.00 dollars a month. which sucks because i thought somebody would help me with this person calling as a single mom its scary having someone do this.

Yeah i got a call from a guy with this number, asking after Mr. & Mrs. XX, he said he'd call back later. There was a lot of noise in the background, sounded like a lot of people, maybe like a cafeteria place or like press conference or something to that effect. Go figure, but next time he calls I'm gonna have some fun with that....."hello you reached the Funeral Home" or "the detective department" or something creative like that. Better yet, "you reached Hell, how may I direct your call" I'll see if he calls again though, and if he does, I'll post the result here.

had a silent call from this number as others have.the police are monitoring now.

This individual is quite fortunate that I no longer reside in Toronto as I would visit his address and deal with him (verbally) in-person.

Since the telephone service providers we pay through the nose for their services won't assist us in deal with this prat I think that we (his victims) should snail-mail him notifications of stern displeasure of his time-wasting pranks and knowledge of his physical address.  Sometimes intimidation can work toward the positive.

A few other ideas:
1) since I only receive dead-air calls, this may be a hacker with a computerized random dialer,
2) free long-distance scammer searching for unattended lines with a "yes, operator, I will accept the charge" outgoing message on the voicemail or answering machine,
3) the caller may be using a spoofcard and typing in a telephone number other than his own to show up on our Caller I.D./Call display monitors.

I'm in Ontario, North of TO and recieved a call from this guy asking for Mr. or Mrs.  I'm not even the one who lives here but answered the call.   I said the people are on Hoildays and then the phone went silent.  Weird..............no click or anything.....just went silent.   If there are this many people with the same problem with this number, why doesnt Bell or whoever do something.
