Yes, that  is a scam . I got an identical phone call today. The accent of the lady who called, then,she  told me to call Rick  Johnson, he had the same accent...  plus I had no problem getting to talk to Mr Johnson.. real life isn`t like that.  (we get put on HOLD)..  I never  gave hinm a chance to  ask for my debit # - I called the  police, between phone calls with the scam artists.An officer was  here when Mr Johnson called back.  DONOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Got a call from (416) 364-1115 and could notunderstand what the person was saying.He terminated the call.

received a number of back to back calls on my mobile number.  I didn't answer as the number is unknown to me. I googled the number and came across this blog.  What's going on with the international calls and threats.  The next time the call I am going to report the the BBB (better business bureau).

I just got a phone call from a woman with a thick accent. She wanted to know what kind of copier we had. I told her the model type. She then confirmed our address and asked for a contact person. I said that we do not handle our equipment mantainence but she insisted on my responding with a contact person. Suspicious, I told her that we do not want any sales solicitation. She claimed it was not a sales call, but information on model updates. I work for a state agency that hires outside individuals to update all of our equipment. I hung up.
