Received a call today about 10h00 and yesterday from this number (416) 279-1365). Take the call but no response...

This number is for Yak Communications. They are a telephone and, as of somewhat recently, an internet service provider. They are based primarily in the US but have been  branching out to other countries over the lase year our so. I live in Canada and my roommates and i have an account with them. We haven't missed payment on a bill, but they still call constantly. sometimes, there is someone on the other end, asking for my roommate (when he calls them back with the toll free number they give me, the say we are late on our payment, which we never are) but most of the time there's just a few seconds of silence after I answer than then a click like they hung up. I don't know why there are so many people also getting hang up calls who are not with Yak. If anyone can shed some more light on this, it would be much appreciated.

These people originally identified themselves as a duct cleaning company. They call constantly, even though we have told them we are not interested and not to call back.  They do anyway.  I threatened to report them for harassment.  No effect.  It's starting to creep me out.  Now that I realize there are others posted here, I start to wonder what exactly trheir game is.  Is it possible they are trying to determine when someone is home?  Or not?
I have spoken to people on these calls.  Is it possible they are trying to hack into computers through the phone lines?  Who knows, but it has goine way beyond aggravating.

They call me 2-3 times during the day, about the same times every day.. and theres never anyone there. Wait a few seconds and an automated person says "Im sorry, that is an incorrect extenion. Please try again"
So I hang up.

According to my phone's log, I missed an incoming call from (416) 279-1365 at 13:48 on 2012.05.29.  This was the only call in the log around that time.  My voicemail received a message from this number at this time on this date.  It was a message from Yak's customer service in response to a request I made.  I am a Yak customer.According to other comments posted here, some "pay your bill" calls came from this number.  If they owed money to Yak, then these calls were legitimate.  I always pay in advance, so I've never received one of those calls.

For over a MONTH now this damn number has been calling CONTENTLY like 10 times a day...no ones ever speeking on the other end..we have called it back and it says it doesnt exist. SO annoying... And so retarted!
