Received a call from this # this morning. No Caller Id was on the display only the number. When I answered the women on the line asked if she was talking to "and she referenced the name on a bank account". I asked who she was and why she was calling she said she was doing a survey for the RBC. Told her never to call again and hung up. Contacted RBC to report and they indicated that there should be no survey calls on their behalf unless its to follow-up on something related to the account. Just a heads up this is probably a scam how they got the account name (it's very unique) is beyond me.

I too received a call from this number (416) 233-0047. The person was just breathing through the phone which sounded very scary and I said “hello!” two times and I hang up. I went online to reverse the number to see who it is; I see that a lot of other people also have received strange phone call from this number.

The best thing to do is to call the police and report his/her sorry ass. Which I did, I wrote an email and report it through phone. If everyone here to do what I did, I am sure he will put back in jail where he belongs.

I an in Newfoundland and this number called our home three times this evening after 5:00 p.m. The third time, which was at 8:52 Newfoundland time, I picked up. A woman asked for my mother (by her first name only). I told her she no longer lives at this phone number and hung up on her. I smell a scam...

As suggested by another respondent, I phoned Market Probe at (416) 233-1555 (who picked up right away) and asked if they operate (416) 233-0047 (which calls daily, never leaves a message and is always busy when I call back). The man said yes and that he could remove me from the call list. I am a new RBC customer so this is a possibility, as others have reported.

this post was helpful - my wife has an RBC account, so if I pick up, this oufit hangs up. We have 2 small kids and I dont need telermarketing hangup calls at all hours. I called and a nice sounding kid apologized. hopefully the calls stop

On second thought, it is the RBC who gave out my name and phone number, so it would make sense to send the complaint to RBC first. If the number of people sending the complaint is big enough then they may stop giving out the list or force Market Probe Canada to change the way they conduct their survey. getting many calls from this number - no one there when I pick up, no messages left if I don't answer.Reverse look up shows no one has that number.
