Received a call from this # this morning. No Caller Id was on the display only the number. When I answered the women on the line asked if she was talking to "and she referenced the name on a bank account". I asked who she was and why she was calling she said she was doing a survey for the RBC. Told her never to call again and hung up. Contacted RBC to report and they indicated that there should be no survey calls on their behalf unless its to follow-up on something related to the account. Just a heads up this is probably a scam how they got the account name (it's very unique) is beyond me.

I too received a call from this number (416) 233-0047. The person was just breathing through the phone which sounded very scary and I said “hello!” two times and I hang up. I went online to reverse the number to see who it is; I see that a lot of other people also have received strange phone call from this number.
The best thing to do is to call the police and report his/her sorry ass. Which I did, I wrote an email and report it through phone. If everyone here to do what I did, I am sure he will put back in jail where he belongs.

Hi AllI have received many phonecalls from this number (416) 233-0047.It's a business marketing research company out of etobicoke (toronto). I took your advise and called the (416) 233-1555 number and had my name removed from they call list and it worked.I hope this works.

You are a Market Researcher, it's your job - that you get paid for - to research. It's my right to tell you that I want my peace and privacy and don't want to be disturbed again. What's wrong with Market Probe Canada calling? Not much, they're just another annoying research/survey company. But when they call using a number that doesn't give the "researched" the convenience to call back and tell them that they don't want to receive calls from them again, that's a problem. I'm sure if we want our voice to be heard, we will find ways to do so. I only find it creepy and suspicious when someone from Market Probe Canada called me to perform a client satisfaction survey and this person knows my full name, the name of my company, and also knows that "this is the name registered for the company". What else does he know? I don't remember him saying he was doing a survey on behalf of the RBC. But then I am a client of the RBC! I did call Market Probe Canada (416) 233-1555, ext 228 for the "supervisor") and left a message to have my number deleted from their call list. I will also call the RBC and ask them what this is about. What a waste of time and energy. Market research should be done in a less annoying manner. Phoning people doesn't work any more. All I think of you market researchers and telemarketers is just one word - nuisance!

My RBC Account Manager told me that I would be receiving a call from the survey company mentioned and sure enough the number that appeared on the phone matches the other post's comments.

I keep receiving calls from this number (several in the last couple of days, today alone was at 5:21pm, 6:28pm and 8:11pm), a female requested to speak to my husband, asking for him by using his full name and didn't wish to leave a message when I told her he was not home - our phone is an unlisted number...as I suspected and from the other posts I've read, it appears to be a market survey and they likely just call a random number. I have blocked that number, so they shouldn't be bothering us anymore.
It's not their fault
Hi guys, I just want to clear a few things up for you annoyed people. 1) If a company calls to do a SURVEY, then the DO NOT CALL LIST DOESN'T APPLY (look it up if you don't believe me, survey companies are exempt)2) If the company calls you and you hang up, they WILL call you back because it's an automated dialer and they have NO control as to how many times you get called a day. That's what automated dialers do.3) It's not the people conducting the surveys fault that you get called, it's the company they are doing the survey for, so no need to be rude to them. They're doing their job, so talk to the company whose PAYING them to do the survey4) It's not a scam, listen to what they say before you cut them off, if they ask for personal information then don't answer the question, but I've taken the call and they don't ask personal questions5) THEY CANNOT REVEAL WHO THE SURVEY IS FOR UNLESS THEY ARE SPEAKING TO THE PERSON ON FILE. (This is for the privacy of the individual, you don't know how many times husbands and wives actually find out their spouse has a secret account, so if the person reveals who the survey is for, it could cause for more problems). This has happened numerous times, so they're doing it to protect the client. 6) Like I said before, it is NOT THEIR FAULT for calling you, it is the company paying them to do the survey, no need to be rude to them, (unless they are rude to you) but hear them out before you hang up or else they will put you down for a call backPS. If they don't answer right away, it's because they are using an automated dialer so it takes a while for them to hear you, so again, that isn't their fault. Just kindly asked to be put on THEIR OWN do not call list, and they should happily oblige.
