After posting my comment I scrolled above and saw canada's comments explaining it all and crap I have also gotten those calls to my home phone and listened to them on my answering machine. Fortunately I have not been home to answer any nor do I pick up unknown numbers to my cell, considering the 3 year warranty on my car is just up ,and I may have actually fallen for it!!!

First: any phone number with "000"  for the CO Code (3 digits in the middle) is invalid. A company phoning you with a "spoofed" number most likely isn't on the level and doesn't want to be found. Ignore the call.Second: Do not sign up to the canadian Do Not Call list. It is being harvested by companies that are outside of the country (these companies do not fall under the laws of Canada either so they can call with impunity).

I've received this (identical) message 5 times now, three from places in the US and two from Canada. Like many others here, I don't own a car.

I have received calls from this number every day for the last two months and it always says this is the last chance call please press one two connect to a customer service rep or press 2 to be removed  but i have pressed two i dunno how many times and yet it still keeps calling me.  i have also added my  number to the do not call list and yet i still receive these calls and sometimes its not the same number they are mixing it up

I just switched to Rogers from Telus last week and i have already had 3 calls from these pricks

I've been getting these calls from california but I have never picked up because I don't know anyone there. I saw a 416 number and picked up a few minutes ago only to get the warranty expiry message!  I am upset that somehow they have my cellphone number.  Thank you for the article from the star at least that makes things clearer now.
