I received a call today from 1-(403) 967-1221. It was a recorded message that I had won 100,000 air miles and to press one to collect the prize. I did not press one but hung up. Later I was talking with Airmiles and they said I did the right thing as it was a scam. The only number they use to contact people is their 1-888 number.

I got a call from this number today. I missed it. I live in Saskatoon.

Missed the call, glad this website can tell me that I didn't leave my class so I could talk to a cash eating snake dressed as a cockroach on the other line.

The guy was very hard to understand.  All I could make out that I won a trip but then he asked for my credit card info.  Uh, sure I will give that out to a total stranger!  Duh...How do these people get our numbers?  My cell number is not listed.   I asked them how they got my number and he hung up.  Also, when I dialed that number to get more info, I got a message saying that the number was not in service or had been disconnected.Yeesch...

It won't stop all calls.  I'm on it and I still got the call from the number under discussion.  As somebody has already pointed out, there doesn't seem to be any protection if the call originates from outside the country...
