I have received a bunch of calls from this number. I just got back from vacation in Australia, I had my call on an international text plan so I could keep in touch with work. I had 18 calls from them, each voicemail notification cost $2.85. An extra $51.30 on my f'n bill... I'd love to find an address for these turds...

Gets pretty bad when you start thinking a political career just to abolish call centres and outlaw autodialers

The police use this tactic to attempt to verify voice data and its origin/identity of a particular cell or landline user.

Cell in BC, call from Alberta. Did not answer.
I wish there was some way to forward calls from these numbers to other known scammers and create a feedback loop...

just got a call said i could receive 2000 expedia dollars... the offer was great - vacation in mexico - karisma hotel... but when i tried to call the hotel to verify and then the marketing department and everywhere else I could not seem to confirm if it was legit... anyways, obviously it's a scam if it comes from this same number as promo for rogers etc...

re annoyed in Vancouver... They use an auto-dialer, so they can hit every number possible.. I once worked for a company that used these (20 yrs ago) the machine will dial the area code and first 5-6 numbers, and a person dials the last... this way they can be sure to call everyone that has a phone REGARDLESS of DNC Lists ;)

Hi everyone YES they are scammers!
I am with Bell and I got this call, thinking it was my family in Calgary I answered.
"dear valued bell customer bla bla free gift bla bla press 1"
So I thought what the hey and pressed 1, a man with a strong spanish accent answered and I couldnt understand him (sounded like he was in a casino). He transferred me to someone else, then this guy asked who he was speaking to... I asked why am I talking to you? he said if I could have a minute of your time I would like to go over your free trip, or whatever, then you can decide... I said no I'll decide now he says okay then I hung up...
I'll be checking over my next cell bill carefully.
As to where they got my number from? I had just ordered some items from www.ctrlgames.com who are based in China and your phone number is required for your shipping info... hmmm
