I received a call today from the above number.It was from a man with a strong african accent going by the name of James.He claimed to be asking for donations on behalf of the Canadian Police Association.  He said that the money would be going to support officers going to local schools to warn students about sexual assaults/rapes.  He asked for $75 for 3 children and (I believe) $50 for 2 children or anything I could contribute.It sounded funny that the police would be asking for funding for such a thing?I hung up and did not contribute.I found a site that had others with similar problems. http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-(403) 770-0543#pRWUPF06gQwA3IgjL5Q2WYg

Just received a call from (403) 770 - 0543. The caller, who sounded Canadian, said he was calling from the Canadian Police Assiciation and was solliciting donations for a police program called "Safe Kids". I told him I need a written request, by mail, in order for me to consider donating, and that I make all my donations once a year in November (& I do so by Cheque). I offered him my mailing address but he was very agrressive and wanted me to commit myself to a donation of $20,00 or more before he would agree to spend money on postage. I ended the conversation with a comment implying that I suspect his call to be a scam.
As I write this I think back to my 7 years as a Citizen On Patrol member and I never heard of the Police soliciting funds for any organization.

Too funny...I do not know what made me google this number...but I did...and good to know about it sooner...and I did not answer it as well.

I get phoned by these people from numerous phone numbers. This is definitely a scam. The Calgary police chief announced on the CTV news that the REAL police will never and have never phoned people asking for money donations. He was very concerned with this scam because the caller is very aggressive and will stop at nothing to get your money and so many people, particularly seniors, are willing to give their credit card number to these fraudsters.

I just received a call from these guys I told them I was constable David Petters and was with the Red Deer RCMP they asked me for a 3000 dollar donation I said I didn't have that kind of money than they got rude so I told them I was going to trace the number and start a investigation on them than they started being polite and hung up on me lol I'm glad I googled this number the first time they called so I could mess with them lol.
