Well, here we go again, yet another scam.  Got a call from this # just a few minutes ago but comes up as "unknown name" - well guess what, I NEVER answer anything unknown.  It boggles the mind that the appropriate authorities can't or WON'T step up and get rid of these scammers.  They know it happens and they know who they are.  And why are the service providers still allowed to provide these morons access to telephone #'s to use for their demoralizing practices.  How much longer does the innocent public have to deal with this crap?  ENOUGH ALREADY!

Just received a call from (403) 770 - 0543. The caller, who sounded Canadian, said he was calling from the Canadian Police Assiciation and was solliciting donations for a police program called "Safe Kids". I told him I need a written request, by mail, in order for me to consider donating, and that I make all my donations once a year in November (& I do so by Cheque). I offered him my mailing address but he was very agrressive and wanted me to commit myself to a donation of $20,00 or more before he would agree to spend money on postage. I ended the conversation with a comment implying that I suspect his call to be a scam.As I write this I think back to my 7 years as a Citizen On Patrol member and I never heard of the Police soliciting funds for any organization.Ed L. The same # called 2 days in a row.  I did not pickup the first call but did google the # and saw all the complaints.  The 2nd call was picked up and the woman on the other end said she was from police services.  I called her on it and asked her to take me off their call list.  She was quite aggressive and would not stop talking.  I had to hang up on her.

1 (403) 770-0543 just called in an attempt to solicite funding for sexual predator education. When I said 'no' that I prefer to donate the RCMP station directly, they dummied down the amount they wanted. I insisted 'no' again and they got rude. Needless to say, they met Mr Dial Tone.

Calls dozens of times from this number and never leaves a message. When I finally answered out of curiosity to see who it was, they were seeking "donations" for a non-existant police foundation. I used to work for CPS, and know that they NEVER collect any kind of donations for any kind of community program, especially by phone. Community programs are funded through their municipal budget. Dont be fooled. SCAM.
