A hard to understand man...calling to tell me that my computer had been infected with multiple viruses. I told him that he could not possibly know that and he said something about computers sending signals whenever you are connected to the internet. I told him my computer is fine and ended the call.
When I call the number back I get the operator telling me this number is not in use.

a guy with a hard to understand accent said something about lottery and $50,000 (I asked him to repeat himself 3 times as he was very hard to understand.). When I asked him what lottery he was talking about, he got angry and hung up.

Annoyed

Carey

Got a call today, "I am with (forget name given, not windows) Your computer is sending error messages into us."  I said  "That is odd, what operating system am I running?"A pause, then he said "windows 7" it sounded more like a question than statement.I said "that is odd, I am running linux"He said. "That does not matter, it is sending error messages to us."I said, my tone less pleasent "look you obviously have the wrong number, my computer is not..."He hung up.I have tried to call back but keep getting a busy signal. It is kind of amusing when one knows it a scam, but not so much when one doesn't.Be wary if you are genuinely concerned about viruses, contact your own tech, don't believe one that contacts you.

Tried calling this number back and it was out of service...How does a pnone # go out of service 5 minutes after they've called???HMMMM...very suspicious

This number called me today and someone with an accent said:"I'd like to speak to the owner of the business."I replied with a less than inviting tone:"What business?"He replied with my name and then again said "Are you the owner of the business?"I AGAIN, asked harshly "WHAT business?"He hung up. This crap is ridiculous, and these lowlifes should be investigated. I feel angry not for myself, but for the people who fall victim to this. I just called the number and now it is out of service.

They detected some "bad files" on my computer and wanted me to turn it on... (I have 3 firewalls in series and running Linux). Asked them where they called from. Said Microsoft from California... Asked them what version of windows I am runing. Just wasted their time and had a bit of fun. Should always ask if their teeth are important for their job and what make of toothpaste they would recommend.
