I got calls similar to these experienced by others, but I have not checked the origin of the call.I could not believe there are people like this out there, and the extend to which they would go to pull a scam like this.I got a follow-up call from the same outfit today. The lady spoke in perfect english without any accent so I suspect the call came from a local location. The lady sounded really nice at first, and said to have some great news since my name has been entered into a draw for $25,000 cash prize. In addition, I have been chosen to receive some fabulous daily give aways. Before I had a chance to turn it down, she went on to describe 3 fabulous gifts ... a slap-chop set, some electronic stuff, and etc. I patiently waited for her to stop talking and finally she asked " so which one will it be?". I politely said to her that I would like to pass.At this point, I guess she realized that she has blown her cover ... and that I knew she is involved in a scam. That's when her tone took a turn and one could actually feel the coldness in her voice/tone.She pressed me to tell her my address so I could receive the fabulous prizes. I insisted that I am not interested in those "prizes".She then hang up abruptly ...

Got a call Saturday night - I demanded that the caller identify herself by ID number and she refused.  Got angry when I persisted and eventually hung up on me!  Before hanging up she had a man come on the call.  My advice is take control of the conversation and:  1. clearly state to them that the conversation is being recorded and when they acknowledge that then 2.  state that you are registered with the government on the Do Not Call List and that the recording will be forwarded to the government along with their ID/name.  
Be persistent about asking for their ID and tell them repeatedly that you want to be taken off their call list and eventually they will hang up on you

Had a survey questionnaire asking about clean air quality.  The caller (female) said she was calling from the Phillipines.  She represented the SPT Research Company for air qualiaty.  The number to call back was (403) 648-2643.  She said I may have won something for answering the questions and will notify me later.   When I called the number somebody answered who couldn't peak English and hung up on me.    I called twice.  Same thing happened.I answered her questions with vague answers.  She had no idea what the company's full name stood for - SPT when I asked her. How do I report this scam?

SPT environmental research.  After pressing as to why her number doesn't show up and to be removed from her call list, she pretended to not hear me and eventually hung up.  I can't block the caller because a number - v11132300290108 shows up.  What is the point?  How do people make money off of this scam?

Got tricked! They called and I gave the info they asked for. Had ethnic accent. (woman) Called the next day and it was a very pushy man! I wasn't ready for him! I managed to book an appointment to get my "free" knives and a presentation. I tried to call back---busy signal. I finally found the business name and a reachable phone number! Breathe EZ homes, AKA (403) 214-1446. I called this number and asked them to cancel my appointment and take me off their call list. They were actually polite, probably since I was so irrate. SCAM SCAM SCAM! I wish I knew how they got my number!!

got a call tonight from (604) 998-8841 - thought they said they were from ESEO???Asked the usual questions as per above recycling, smoker ect ... her name was Michelle, when we got to the end end she asked for my name. When I refused to provide a name she said I had to supply one. I explained it was a survey and no name was required. She actually argued with me when I told it was MRS. and refused to give her one. After telling her she could use MRS or nothing and terminated the call, she called me back ??? Since the time was now 9:04 EST I picked up the phone saying "Michelle, the time is now 9:04 EST and you are in violation of Ontario calling laws put your manager on the line." She pretended she could not hear me and terminated the call - lol - will definitely get more info if they call again --- by the sounds of it from previous post I will most likely hear from them again
