I found out from dialing just 310-2255 that it connects me with Telus' 20 questions robot. The woman who finally answered the phone said I'm to call 1-+1 800-567-0000 and press 1 for privacy concerns, scams, and marketing calls. I don't remember the exact wording. When I did so and asked the woman to be taken off their sales calling list. she assured me that I would soon stop receiving those calls. I received one this afternoon. Hopefully that will be the last time.By the way, I also learned that the national "Do Not Call" list is set up so that your number is removed after a couple of years. The Telus lady advised me to call and re-register with the DNC folks. The number is 1-+1 866-580-3625. I'll call them tomorrow when their office is open.

Thank god our phone has caller block feature, we added that number and it only rings once and stops.  We've been getting it numerous times a week for the past month and TELUS won't do anything about putting our number on the do not call list.

Call (403) 310-1000

Select option 1

Wait to be connected to a customer service representative

Ask them to take you off their call list

They will ask you the phone number you wish to be taken off their call list, and your name (you do not have to give them the name on the account)

They say it will be taken off their list within 5 days.

I started getting calls from these a$$w!pe$ (if this trips a captcha, sorry) after I had to cancel my internet lanline.  You see, I live in an older building, and the internal wiring was sadly out of date.  My Telus Internet went on the fritz, and Telus got a person out to look at the problem.  Turns out the wiring an connectors had gone bad, and the signal could no longer get from the exterior line through the junction box and to my apartment.  No problem there, I recognize the problem.

And of course, the landlord is too stingy to replace the wiring.  He told me that if I didn't have a cell phone, I should suck it up and buy one, who uses a LAN line any more?  But that's a different issue.

So the Telus guy gives me the report number he'll file so when I cancel my internet, I can cite the number as Telus telling me that I can cancel the connection.  And when I do It's done in about five minutes as Telus can't give me s**t for having a physically broken line.

Then the calls start.

If you've gotten this far, you know exactly what I'm talking about.  I eventually went with Shaw Cable for my internet.

ticked off

After ignoring calls for weeks from this number I finally picked up. It was a telus sales rep trying to sell me the telus satellite tv sevice. I told him I would call telus if I wanted to order this service. He replied that I must tell him when he can call back because he was the one who told me about the service.(I'm assuming he works on commission) At this point I got annoyed and told him I would be making a complaint about his attitude and attempt at high pressure sales. I looked in the phone book and the complaints line is the same one that this fellow called from! I called anyway and another rep told me he couldn't handle my complaint because it was about someone in his dept. He gave me the web address and a phone number to call. No one is available at the phone until after the long weekend and the web address telus.fraud.management isn't valid. I guess I'll cool my heels until Tuesday.
