They called and talked about credit card debt over $10,000.00. They must be masquerading the number somehow, because it is from a very small town in Saskatchewan. Since 306 is our area code, I assumed it must be somebody who really wanted to talk to me, not just a stupid recorded message.

Yup its a spoofed caller ID, which Sasktel allows instead of blocking because they can charge their own customers more for a service called 'block the blockers'. This action makes Sasktel complicit in the illegal activities that are going on, they are just taking their own cut of the loot by fleecing their own customers.

Same as before. This time, I pressed"1" as instructed, with the idea of talking to somebody and telling them to get lost. However, after about two minutes of Muzak, the line went dead.

Just say "hello"

We have been receiving calls from this number FOREVER!!! Does anyone know who is calling and is there anyone who knows how to make them stop this nonsense?
