just got the same call as mm above.  Like the sucker that I am, I pressed 1.  Not happy.

Just got a call from this number (search tells me it's based from Cobble Hill/Victoria, BC - I answered it because I'm also on the Island and thought it may have been legit being that it's a somewhat familiar prefix) and it was an automated spiel saying that I was a preferred Telus customer and to press 1 to collect my free gift. I said "Nope" and hung up. Go away, Telemarketers. This is the third junk call this week.

It was an automated spiel saying that I was a preferred Telus customer and to press 1 to collect my free gift. Dang, wrong contest. So, I hung up!I haven't received a telemarketer for several months now. The trick to trick telemarketers is to answer the phone as a business line. When they start talking tell them that this is a business. They are apologetic, and don''t call back for 3-6 months, and then they start up again. Just make sure, you save their number in your phone and save their contact info as a Telemarketer, for next time.

Scam- fake automatedpromotion for "WestJet" but not sure who is really behind it. Called me at work and and on my cel in that same day!! B*****ds.

They call my work number quite often. I've taken to pushing "1" and when told I qualify for something-or-other, I tell them I am very excited but my battery is about to die so I'm just going to put them on hold and then switch phones. I then put them on hold and see how long they last before they give up. My record is 7.5 minutes!
