Called claiming to be "a local charity"... if this is an actual charity then why does its name come up as "Private" and why doesn't the caller identify the name of their charity?

For everyone's information - this is a legit company calling on behalf of the Shriners.  There is an main office located in Victoria which calls many cities in BC.  The funds raised for each city go for Shriners activities in that community.  If you have further questions, please call our main office number (250) 384-4427.

tried to get me to pay 40.00 for tickets to shiners at oak bay high school but neither organization has any knowledge.

Mother received call saying they were from "Abbotsford Shriners" but she said, "Not with a 250 # you're not!" and hung up.

This number keeps calling me

Has called twice but did not leave a message. I did contribute last year to the Shriners and paid for tickets for 2 children.
