Called telling me that they were from Visa, and wanted to update my profile. I got suspicious when they asked for the visa customer service number on the back of the card. (I think Visa would know that already)

I call Winnipeg from the states on a Comcast line. In Winnipeg my number doesnt show up. Instead the number 480-9170 shows up on caller ID WITH NO AREA CODE. Someone should stop misuse of this number.

I received a call from this number claiming they were from Liberty Financial and they needed our SIN number and birthdate to provide us with a proposal to consolidate our debt - of course they did not know if we had any. They did not know what ccs we had etc. They were offering debt reduction services to consolidate all bills into one low interest payment. You can never trust anyone on the other end of the phone these days. Very disturbing.

I just got the same message and was going to call back as we've had things being shipped to us at different times -- thanks for all these posts and letting us know - These damn scammers just keep coming up with new things.

I get the call from the same #, no voice message left.  I try to call back but all I get is a busy signal.  It's kind of annoying.  Can I block this number?

I have received calls from an Manitoba Internet Provider from this # in the past.  I think it is a VoIP provider that allows people to call Winnipeg locally no matter where they are located.  Therefore you may see this number from multiple businesses, some legit and some a little shady.  If you block it you block the good with the bad.
