I just received a phone call from a Sam Albert who stated that I had filled out a ballot and won one of 5 prizes (cash, laptop, furniture) at Walmart...first of all I NEVER fill out ballots. Sam stated that I would have to sit through a presentation and would be served light refreshments. WhenI told him that my husband was unavailable he insisted that he need to be present...why? if I had won the prize. This sounds like a marketing scheme that I want no part of.

Again same behavior, same Pakistani accent they simply repeat the patter, nonexistent ballot we filled, promising a prize to be collected North of Toronto at 6175 Highway 7, Unit 6 from Ontario Award Company. Reference # to be supplied by Max RICHARDS (?). Of course they insist with several calls. If they insist longer a report will be sent to info @ antifraudcentre.ca

They also called me, some guy with an Indian or Pakistani accent whose name was "Max Richards" or something like that. Anyway, he started off by saying I'd filled out a ballot in a mall on March 17th. I never fill out these things fearing that I'll get lame callers like this, so I knew he was lying off the bat, but I thought I'd play along and waste his time. "Max" said I had won one of 5 fabulous prizes, and that I needed to get a confirmation code from his manager, then show up for a 90 minute presentation in Woodbridge, ON. The company name was Ewart, or something like that. When I gave them a fake name, they didn't call me on it, so I knew they just got my number out of the phone book. After I didn't show up to their bogus "Prize Ceremony" they called me back. When they asked for Thomas, my wife told them there was no one here by that name. (Not my real name!) A few days later when they called back, I told them that I googled (905) 695-9047 and that it was for some timeshare sales scam and that they should not call back. "Max" asked if my wife and I were insane, and called my wife a b**ch. He called back 5 times in a row before giving up. I hope they get punished to the fullest extent of the law.
