these buggers woke me up from a sound sleep this morning! They did not leave a message.   They called few days ago and i just left the phone "off the hook".   Probably best not to answer at all - if you blow up at them they will no doubt continue to call just to annoy you.

had a same call, but not left message, ignore it.

I too am getting countless calls from this number. No one is ever on the line, can not call back, press 1 to talk to someone after 45 seconds or so the line goes dead. I did a reverse lookup on yellowpages.ca and the (905) 281-1282/">(905) 281-1282 reverse traces to

I would post the actual info but that could be construed as slander if it is wrong but a link to the info is not.

How do we stop this indeed??  I have lodged formal complaints to my MLA, The CRTC (WHAT A JOKE THEY ARE!!!) Canada's national DO NOT CALL List is of no use either..

We know they are telemarketers, but how can we get it across to those people who STILL fall for these scams? If we can educate EVERYONE on how to handle telemarketer calls, then NO TELEMARKETERS WILL BOTHER calling anyone ever again. They will have to move on to a new way to scam people and we will have control of our telephone lines again.Isn't it disgusting that so many of our population resort to this dishonest way of making a buck?'A public service... get out of debt' call

Most telephone companies provide Selective Call Blocking. This lets you enter up to 32 specific numbers from which you do not want to receive a call.
Anyone trying to call your phone from a number you have blocked will hear a recording advising them you are not accepting calls from their number. You can turn the feature on or off from your phone keypad at any time.

Using your landline phone, try the following

(1) To activate Selective Call Blocking, dial *60 and press 3. Then, press # and enter the phone number you do not wish to receive calls from.
(2) To block the number from the last call received, dial *60 and key in #, 0, 1, #.
(3) To deactivate Selective Call Blocking, dial *60 and press 3.
