They're still at it.  Got the call this morning at breakfast time.  As it was the 5th or 6th time they've tried me over the past month I was not so polite.  After I hung up on her, she called me back and berated me for using profanity!  Then she said she'd take me off their call list (probably finally realizing they're not getting anything from me).  Said she worked for Esolving, who worked for microsoft.  Microsoft of course confirmed that they have nothing whatsoever to do with Esolving, they never make cold calls, and advised to report the call (in Canada) to 1-+1 888-382-1222.  She's people are hilarious!

Today I received a similar call. I don't have call display so I don't know the callers phone number. It was a female voice of east Indian decent. Wanted me to enter eventvwr in run. I refused as I didn't know what would happen as I'm not familiar with that command. She finally told me that she was from e solving. She hung up on me when I wouldn't do what she wanted. She was very persistent.Kitchener, OntarioDon

screwed

yes you have been screwed, assuming you let them onto your computer. these people call regularly to try to steel your personal information off of your computer so that they can steel your identity or and your money. It is just a coincidence that you had just downloaded windows updates. although there is a chance that they have spyware on your computer already. This is not likely though. But now they are on your computer - if you had let them by going to a particular website. Try to set your system restore to an earlier date and run an antivirus and antispyware with the latest definitions. Change your bank accounts etc and beware of mortgage fraud. Inform your bank of what happened. Do whatever is needed in regards to any personal information you keep on line ie bank passwords and account numbers etc. Consider to get a new computer.

ha ha ha ha "Justin Smith" from "E Solve" just called me to tell me about my computer getting a serious virus and if I do this and push this and do that he will help fix my computer and it will run alot better. Yeah right!!!! I got in touch with Windows Micro Soft and they said they NEVER call and ask you to do this NEVER!!!!!  Do NOT give free rein to your computer to ANYONE!!! NO ONE!!! EVER!!!
"Justin" told me that I should call this number (647) 288-1790 if I have any doubts. He told me to push the windows button and while holding it down I should push the "r" button as well. He asked if I could see a box come up and I said no. We went through this 3 times and he put me on hold to talk to his supervisor and I hung up. He called back 3 times but, I didn't answer it cause they usually argue with you about it being legit and I was NOT up to a fight today.
BEWARE!!!!!!

This company called me today and gave the same spiel described on these other comments. I listened to the entire thing and then told him I couldn't afford it. He then started to get angry at me for wasting his time. I hung up. Another fellow called me back immediately and again was angry saying if I couldn't afford it why had I wasted their time. He then informed me that the call and lasted for 26 minutes and I would be charged for the call to the tune of $64. Is this possible. What a scam
