We received a call from this number earlier this afternoon - we live in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. The recorded message was vaguely threatening.

WOW! What a totally fraudulant business! They keep calling my groundline with their "URGENT" need for me to contact them about some business they have with an unnamed person. I call from my cellphone and by some miracle they have the need to speak to some Gordon or Jason Lightfoot who has given my cellphone as his contact information. How amazing that any number that calls them has someone with whom they have urgent business... or, maybe, they just tell everyone they have urgent business with a "friend" (I have met all my friends, I don't think any have slipped by without knowing their name)to try to get money out of them.

Computer calling. from (905) 258-2802 ..I keep receiving messages on my voicemail on a daily basis from these people to return calls.  They do not identify who they are or who they are calling for.
So this blog thinks that the number is from GLOBAL CREDIT.

I just activated a new phone and very next day this number called it. Not sure how they even got this number or who they were looking for. I let it go to voice mail.

I got a call from (905) 258-2834, the caller refused to identify themselves or what they were calling for...just starting demanding personal information regarding a resolved past due payment, was able to provide reference numbers etc. We called the only place that could have sent anything to collections and was told our information had been sent to a creditor in error then retracted and they would contact the agency and make sure we did not get another call. The NEXT DAY we got another call .The caller was very accusatory and rude several times saying I was trying to "pull a fast one" whatever that is supposed to mean. EXTREMELY rude, very condescending . My husband called him back directly and had to hang-up on him due to the attitude on the other end, called the main line and filed a complaint and told them to never call or contact us again, then called Telus and BLOCKED the number. From what I have read elsewhere they are a third party collection agency and are bottom feeders who buy debts for pennies on the dollar and then try and collect this debt that has been written off by the original creditor.  They will make you assume they are the collection agency for the original creditor--- they are in fact NOT.  If they contact you via mail or phone, request they send you validation of the debt. DO not ever affirm the debt with them. Never acknowledge the debt make them prove it to you.

The same a***oles called me at EIGHT AM this morning. Claimed they were with CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce! The problem is, the last time I dealt with CIBC at all was over THIRTY YEARS ago and it was just a basic savings account that I closed LONG AGO. I don't believe these a***oles are legit at all.
