I give them every year, not a scam

Called and left no voice message.

Got the same call as y'all- tried to get me to give donation, told him i couldn't afford it, he said he would call another time. after i hung up I googled the number which brought me to this page. Local police were notified and an officer came to see me about the call. He called the phone number back to hear the recording. There is now an investigation being done on this number by The Police Assn themselves or someone within the division. The officer told me he would hear back any info on it. Hopefully he will let me know the results when he gets them! What a nice officer to, explaining to me about scams out there, etc. So everyone beware--- NEVER GIVE CCD INFO OUT TO STRANGERS ON THE PHONE!! Hope you all have an awesome day!

Actually, it IS a scam!!  There is a legitimate campaign run by the Canadian Police Association called "Cops for Kids Safety".  This phone number (902) 701-9240) is NOT related to that campaign.  The caller from this number claims to be from the Association, but is collecting funds for an anti-bullying initiative/book.  This is a scam!!!  This link, www.thetelegram.com/News/Local/2014-01-29/article...of...scam/1 will take you to a story about how this scam is very similar to the campaign being run by the Association.  If you call the number back they will actually answer saying they are the CPA.  THEY ARE NOT!!!  Be very careful your donation is going to the legitimate charity and not the scammers!!

Received call from Police Association looking for donation .. after complying and sending them $25, I believed then that I was scammed.

I too am receiving calls from this No. I will not answer if the call waiting shows me a No. I do not recognize. This is a dangerous practice as it could be a call that needs to be answered, I. e. family emergency. On phone solicitations I ask that request be sent by mail. I never give via phone.
