This number IS NOT calling on behalf of RBC. I contacted RBC, and they have no knowledge of this company... any marketing they do, is with a 1-800 number, that is clearly identified on call display as RBC

It is a RBC telemarketing company never trust them or give them private information even if they claim to be apart of a larger parent company such as RBC.

Contacted RBC after taking this call. The "Actor" claimed to be from RBC. Wanted to sell a credit score sheet to my wife and monthly credit evaluation and protection. When questioned about their identity admitted they were "contracted" by RBC. They were seeking credit card numbers, SIN numbers etc. NOPE. Told him to not call again.I immediately called RBC to ask about this +1 800-769-2511, general service). I recalled the phone call and the RBC agent assured me that it was not RBC and directed me to the Anti-Fraud website, Government of Canada, as well as urged me to call the police. I have filed a complaint with the Anti-fraud centre and will be calling the police next.Do not give personal info out! This is a scam.

I got the same deal as JC. These guys call me 5x daily from several different numbers. I answer one and tell them to put me on their DNC list, then they call me from another number the next day. I did call RBC and have them put me on their "internal" list and the same "oh you don't want to receive information about any offers?". I said no, if I wanted something I'd call them. They said it takes 30 days to update the system. It will be interesting to see if it works or not.

If it is RBC I am on a do not call list. Do they contract out to avoid the rules? It is amazing how the ads ov etc convay ethics but this shows the true colours

My husband answered this call. It was telemarketing working for Royal Bank. He asked if it was a sales call, and they said 'no, it is an important benefit call'... Haha He said 'no thank you, good by.' Our number is on the 'do not call list', but these guys still get to call us. We are in BC.

I got a call from this number, some lady claiming to be from Famtel Solutions. As annoying as telemarketing call centres are, Famtel seems to be a legitimate company. However, I have no idea if this number is actually Famtel's. Anyway, I called RBC and told them I'm tired of receiving telemarketing calls from sketchy companies claiming to be calling on behalf of RBC. The agent was nice, but defensive, claiming that RBC does not make telemarketing calls, while in the same breath saying that Famtel is not one of the companies RBC uses. I pointed out that on their own website FAQ says:
5. What if I no longer wish to receive marketing calls from RBC, regardless of whether I have a relationship with you?
"We are committed to respecting the wishes of our clients or consumers who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls from us. There are two simple ways to add your name to our internal do not call lists:
You can call or visit your bank branch or check www.rbc.com for information on how to add your name to our internal do not call lists. You will be asked a series of security questions, so that we can verify your identity. If you receive a telemarketing call from us, you can ask at that time to be added to our internal do not call lists."
So obviously they do make telemarketing calls. The agent responded, "So you don't want to receive any more of our OFFERS? If I put you on that list, you won't receive any of our OFFERS anymore." Nice try, but no I don't want any more of your "offers."
