Tired of scam

This number IS NOT calling on behalf of RBC.
I contacted RBC, and they have no knowledge of this company... any marketing they do, is with a 1-800 number, that is clearly identified on call display as RBC

It is a RBC telemarketing company never trust them or give them private information even if they claim to be apart of a larger parent company such as RBC.

As all have been saying a woman's voice then a man comes on wanting to give me a free credit report for a month then about $20.00 a month after. I did not go for it because my number is unlisted and I will not give my name out. If they are from my bank then they would have my name, number and other info and they would know who I was and not have to ask for it. So be carefull who you talk with and don't give out any thing info.

I just saw this last comment that this could be a debt collector. I don't actually have any outstanding debts, so I'm thinking it is still RBC??

I got a call which my husband answered two days ago asking for me and then tonight I answered the same  call.  778 is a BC cell phone number.  Like everyone here, they want to give me a free credit report and the next report which comes out monthly will cost me $18 a month and will be charged to my RBC visa.  The guy speaks perfect English and very smooth trying to push me to agree and told me I only have to call back to cancel the charge if I decide not to get a monthly credit report.  I listened to his whole script wondering why RBC would do such a thing to their customer and why would I need a monthly credit report on my credit status.  I asked him why would RBC give him authority to call me?  He said they are a marketing firm RBC hired and then kept pushing me to confirm my name!  Somehow they knew my first name and home number.  I don't know from where though cause my home number is not under my name.  Anyways, I gave my RBC rep a nasty e-mail saying if you hired Famtel to solicit something to me, I will be VERY upset and I need to speak to someone who is dealing with this marketing campaign.  Will see what RBC has to say.

My wife answered the phone, they asked for me. When she asked who's calling they hung up.

I am in Ontario and this number has been calling my home phone number which is on the do not call list and on top of that, my number is not even listed.  I have caller ID, so when I do not recognize number that is calling, I wait for the answering machine to pick up and of course, they do not leave messages. This is a pain in the a** to be bothered by telemarketing when your number is not even listed in the phone book nor on Canada 411, no where at all.One good thing is that I was able to block number from calling again.  If they try to call me, they will get a message stating that I do not wish to receive their call. This is something that I should not have to do for them to stop bugging us.
