This No. is calling the B.C. area this morning purporting to be from Royal bank attempting to sell a program agst identity theft as well as monitoring your credit reports. He was asking for an address to send the application form and maybe a creditcard No. in order to do the monthly debit after the first 3 month-trial. I hung up on him & inform RBC

I've been getting the same call for the past year and a half. They call every 2 months offering identity theft protection. I feel bad for the person on the line who is obviously calling 120 people a day reading off a sheet of paper. If this is a scam, shame on them. If it isn't a scam, shame on RBC for being so damn annoying.

This number has called several times, doesn't leave a message. I will probably answer next time and ask to be taken off their list and I'm contacting RBC to do the same.

DO NOT ANSWER this number, I reported it to RBC it is a SCAM.

I got this call, called like 10 times in one week. I finally answered it and it was a fast talker offering some identity protection service. I let him finish so I could ask some questions but as soon as he finished he wanted to confirm my name. So I gave him a fake name and he took it because he has no information on me. I also gave him a fake birth day and this clown completed the package. I promptly contacted RBC furiously because I do not recall ever authoring them to give my information to third parties. RBC fraud department verified that they are not affiliated with famtel. And my number has been on the do not call list in Canada for three years. However I think Rbc is being dishonest because I think the RBC insurance side is the one hiring out these companies. I used to get calls from TRG on behalf of td bank as well. I called Rbc insurance and they played dumb but I refused to get off the line until I spoke to a supervisor. I ended up closing my account with RBC.

Gave them my name and said I didnt have a credit limit yet - hopefully not to much information if it is a scam.

I got the call from Famtel (902) 442-7646) on behalf of RBC, a well trained and fast speaker person trying to sale insurance service against identity theft by sending periodic credit reports, first 30 days free and then 7$/month charged to my credit card. He wanted me to give my full name, address and date of birthday. I refused and let him go.Even if is legit you better stay away of this non-solicited services. You'll be better off requesting the free reports directly to:www.equifax.cawww.transunion.ca
