That is a call from the VGH appointment, the lady spoke very gently and slow. Also, answered my questions very clear.

Caller: Vancouver General Hospital Many of you are alarmingly stupid. This is not a scam. This is Vancouver General Hospital. If they're calling you out of error it's likely because someone has incorrect info on their medical profile.

Caller: VGH This is a calling line from Vancouver General Hospital, probably for numerous departments, I know for sure it was used to forward an appointment confirmation from the MRI department. You cannot call back on the line. I think that a regular person may use it to phone out for a regular person, but if no answer, they leave a recorded message informing patients booking appointment time and preparations for things like tests ( may be used to confirm surgeries but not sure ). It was not scam, but it may give that appearance if phone number information and patient information is not correct.

this number is the outgoing phone that staff at VGH use to call patients. You cannot call into the hospital on it. The caller should give a number for you to call back if you have to. It's not high-jacked or spam. It's set up that way as they have a lot of outgoing calls to make and need to have the line clear for those outgoing call. The main switchboard # for VGH is (604) 875-4111
