just so tired of telemarketers and scammers!!!! I no longer answer numbers I do not recognize. I got the same call saying that they were calling to lower the rates on both Visa and MasterCard. I realized it was a scammed and they were phishing for credit information Darn credit card scammers, called me tonight, told me I could lower my credit card rates, and I do not have a credit card, these people have got to be stopped, and put them out of business! I don't answer landline calls anymore. My cell phone keeps me connected to family and friends. Just so sick of scams! Say nothing ....do nothing .... just HANG UP! No message left East indian voice did not know that his robot had phoned me. thought that I had called him??? SCAM Google search came up with:

Credit Card rate reduction number, pretending to sound like my bank. wANTED CREDIT CARD NUMBERS SO PERCENTAGE RATE COULD BE LOWERED. SCAM SCAM. I DEAL WITH BANKS For the past 4 weeks I got no "telemarketing" or "scammer" call me. But right after the provincial election over, calls start to came in again. All those 4 weeks I only got political robo calls form 2 major parties. At first, I just block the numbers right after I pick up the first call. But strange things happen, they begin to switch phone numbers to call me. Using the same method as the "telemarketing" or "scammer". In curiosity, I research all those political robo call numbers. The numbers that the PC party use were previous calling people for debit consolidation just a month ago. The robo call numbers use by Liberal party were calling people for air duct cleaning and Bahama Cruise before. From those numbers, people at the forum say those call center were in India or Pakistan. I always feel skeptical about this theory, cause they never call me on Labour day, Good Friday or Victoria Day. Are those days also a statutory holiday In India and Pakistan too? Furthermore, I think there is a rule say no outside of the country help/assistance for the provincial election. So that make those call centers are located within Canada not outside. I did contact both candidates, ask them who they hired for the robo calls. (I am not on DNCL, my number is unlisted, the only origination know my full name, address and phone number is Revenue Canada and Election Canada). So I think the call center use the voters list instead of DNCL to call us. One candidate say he did not hired anyone to call me(what a liar). The other candidate say he can not tell me, instead what he can do for me is to ask the call center to remove my number form their data bank permanently. Right after the contact, I did get less calls. Almost cutting half of the amount. I got 2 to 3 calls per week instead of everyday.Maybe that's why CRTC never can get rid of the call center. Something I often do when I get these annoying stupid calls is to just take the phone off the hook and set it down for like 15 minutes. These are mostly 'recorded' calls anyway, so their systems can't dial anyone while my phone is off the hook. they called, but I didn't answer it on time so they hung up This number called this aft., when I answered, there was dead air - no dial tone, just dead air. This is not the first time I have gotten this call. Who is it???? Just got a call from this number.Didn't answer the phone. Thanks everyone for posting info, really helps. Just got another one from them. "Urgent call regarding my credit card account"There are 2 options...... 1 to talk to someone and 2 to not get called again. But 2 doesn't work! Its an invalid entry! I too am on the no call list.... it seems to make no difference.
