You are not alone. If you do a search, you will find many others have had the same. This following is mine; They called my number numerous times, never leaving a message. When I returned the call, the "operator" told me that she was answering phones for many companies. After asking her what companies, she said, "maybe it's from the company that sells flat screen TV's", I told her thanks but no thanks, and hung up.A few days later, I received yet another call from the same number, so I answered. The guy on the other end told me that he was calling from *Boston Pizza" on St. Laurent Blvd. in Ottawa (which made me question the validity of the call), then he said, "Oh, you must be confused by the 450 exchange, it's actually a central number we have for our advertising". I asked a few questions as he tried to pitch me his sales BS, telling me that he had been given my business card by a colleague, so I asked him what was on the back of my card (my card has info on what I do on the back), he then said that he couldn't find it, and I said, "funny, you had it a second ago to get my umber to call me". He continued to skirt the questions and pitch his wares. I asked more questions, he said it was to put my business on their advertising TV's throughout the restaurant, which made me ask who he was again. He then tried to tell me that he was in charge of all the Boston Pizza advertising in Quebec & Ontario, but working for Boston Pizza (which made me question why he would call me). When I asked to meet with him, he told me that he was very busy with the installation of the TVs, and that I would have to call his office. In the end, I told him that I wasn't interested, and hung up.It smelled fishy, so I researched the number online, and it came up as "Impression Rinka", out of Longueil Quebec.I called the number, listened to the recorded message, and chose an option. There was only one company, not numerous as the "operator" had explained. There was no "0" selection, and no way to get a manager, just a few names and departments, so I chose the "customer service" one.I got a message saying that "Kate" was busy, and that I should remain on hold. After a brief stint on hold, the phone was answered by a lady, who gave her name as "Marie Anne", or "Anne Marie (I can't remember which). I then asked what the company did, she refused to answer, and asked why I wanted to know. I told her that I had received numerous calls from this number, and wanted to know why, as no one had left any messages. After a number of questions from both of us, and her determination not to tell me what they did, I said "good day" and hung up.Later on, I called back @ the "central office" number of "Rinka" @ (450) 442-1141, and when the same "operator" answered, I asked to speak with the manager, this time, she did not ask "which company" manager I wanted to speak with, but told me that the manager didn't speak english. I then asked her in French, she then told me that he wasn't there. She asked me what the call was about, I told her that it wasn't her business, that I wanted to speak to the manager, and she said, "what do you mean it's not my business?", I told her that since she was only the "operator" for multiple businesses, that the reason for my call did not concern her, she then got quite rude in tone and continued to ask what it was about (at this point I actually thought she was going to hang up, but she continued asking), I persisted in demanding to speak with the manager or with whomever was in charge of the office at that time, and, after a lengthy pause and time on hold, she put the call to a woman claiming to be the advertising manager.Knowing that this was going nowhere, I asked this lady to put me through to the "installation manager", and she transferred me to a man.I asked this "manager" if he had a crew installing some TVs at the Boston Pizza location in Ottawa (that I mentioned earlier), he said no, so I proceeded to tell him about the call I had. he then said yes, we have some TVs there, but no crew or sales people (because I asked that question too). He ten told me that I must have been mistaken or confused about the call. I told him everything, he continued to deny that anyone from his company would call me from there -even though the number came from his office. We ended up having a rather heated conversation, trying to tell me (in english that perhaps we weren't understanding each other due to language barrier, and told me I should call back when someone english could speak to me. So, once again, I switched to French. He stuttered and stammered a bit, now realizing that he was stuck, then tried to tell me again how I was "confused".Finally, after much arguing and discussion (which I know was BS) I told him that I would be calling the RCMP fraud department about his company and their scam.He lost his s**t, started yelling at me on the phone, telling me that I was a trouble maker, and that he ran a proper business, and continued to tell me that there was, in fact, TVs installed at the Boston Pizza location. I said that's fine, perhaps there are, but that I figured his business was a scam, so he continued to yell and call me names (how professional is that?!).Every person I dealt with was rude from the get go.Everything we discussed was highly questionable. The discussions were heated, and ill thought out on their part, they back-pedaled and paused quite often, I'm quite certain to think of what lies to give me next. The whole thing smelled worse that Cornwall in the summertime.
