I called the number and it comes back to a Bell Canada acct. they have purposly blocked the receive calls feature. I have sent an email to Bell Security to terminate this number (that should slow them down for about 8 minutes)

I'm on pay-as-I-go with Rogers, so I don't always answer the phone.This number (450) 226-6109 rings me on a Saturday, so I picked-up the phone.No reply ...!  Dead-air till I hang-up.I'm also on the DO NOT CALL REGISTERY !!!!!!!The Hell of it is, I think I'm stuck with receiving a long-distance call rate for a whole minute, at the very least.

Message they left was 'how to lower interest rates'.

These scammers also use the number (647) 898-8827. The same man will always answer with the foreign accent. Yesterday he called and I hit 1 to talk...as soon as he came online to talk I blew a whistle very loudly in his ear and hung up. I urge everyone to get the loudest whistle and blow it as hard as you can. Maybe even get one of those air cans they use on golf courses...that will hurt there ears. Have no pity on these scumbags. They will steel your eyes and come back later for the sockets.

I also received a call from this number on Feb 21 at 7:45 pm.  Press 1 to have my credit card interest rate lowered to 6.9% or 2 to be removed from the calling list. I pressed 2 "invalid option", so I pressed 1 and waited for a person to answer.  I will not call him a gentleman but it was a male voice with broken English. When I repeatedly told him my current interest rate was 2.9% and unless he could better that to remove me from his calling list, he informed me that his "records did not indicate this" so I informed him that his records were wrong.  At this point he said "you think you can play with me, you can go f**k yourself".  Needless to say I laughed out loud and hung up.

2nd call in 2 days.  Saying can lower your credit card rate to 6.9%.  This time I pressed 1 to hear what they had to say.  Person on the line cannot speak very good English, and the phone line keeps blanking out as if calling through VOIP headset.  Refused to answer me about what Credit card company, and what number was he calling from.  I have now reported them to my CC companies.  Please DO NOT give this guy any info.!Caller: No Name giving only to save me 6.9%NOTE:  Others getting these calls - You are given Option 1 or 2 - if you select 2 - says not an option and you still get someone.  They will not provide name or anything on the phone and try to get you to give them info.  I told the guy I was contacting my credit card companies.  BTW I am on the DNC list as well.  They are breaking Canadian LAW!  Plus if you report to the AntiFraud line here in Ontario you get absolutely NO help!
