My mother received a call from the number 1 (416) 777-7775 with a woman pretending to be me stating that I had won tickets to a concert with a friend in Montreal. ?She proceeded to claim that I had a few drinks, got in a car accident (saying I had stitches in my lip and my friend ?Sally? was in a neckbrace) and now needed CDN$5000 to pay a lawyer who agreed to help get the car fixed and assist with the impaired driving charges.A fake lawyer also came on the phone to claim that he was with my mother?s ?daughter? and was going to help her.  My mother panicked and since she thought she was helping me she followed the man?s request of wiring $5000 via Western Union (plus $200 transaction fees).  When I didn?t call back, concern mounted and my parents called me to find out that I was not at all in Montreal and that my family had been scammed.PLEASE report any incident to your local police as well as with the RCMP?s Anti Fraud Call Centre on http://www.phonebusters.com/english/index.html or by dialling toll free 1 +1 888-495-8501 or overseas on (705) 495-8501THESE SCAMMERS MUST BE STOPPED

im too nervous 2 give it

this number called my grandmother in quebec, i live in ontario. the caller identified himself as my boyfriend, and told my grandmother that he was in jail, in toronto. we apparently had been to a wedding, rented a car and were caught drunk driving. he asked my grandmother for 4,500.00$. the scary part is that my grandmother has 20 grandkids, and im the only one that calls her grandma. she is known as another name by the rest. my grandmother is a very smart lady, and knew it couldnt be us, so she refused to send the money.

I received a call from this number and couldn't answer. A message was left to call John Lee at +1 800-604-9001 in regards to my $7000 loan being approved. I knew I hadn't applied for a loan but called anyway. They wanted to give me a loan but I had to pay $335 for insurance. What A scam! The 800 number is somewhere in China! Do not fall for this scam.

Called my grandmother a few minutes ago. He knew my name and my grandmothers real name that I never use. Same story as above, called asking for money for a car accident in Canada that happened while he was at a film festival. What a load of bs. Hacker/scammer with some very weird information.

Grandma

I received a call from phone NO. (416) 777-7775 today.  The man called me Grandma.  He said he was in trouble.  He had been in Canada attending the Mirable Film Festival.  He said he was in a two car accident and that he had suffered several injuries, but was OK.  He said not to tell anyone in the family, but he needed help to come back home.  He said he had two drinks before the accident and was charged with a dui.  He told me that charges would be dropped if he paid for the expenses for the two cars.  He said he gave them $1,000, that was all he had.  He needed another $2,900.  He told me to go to a Money Gram store and gave me the number 1-+1 800-666-3945 to find out the nearest location.  He said he would call back in 2 hours. I was supposed to pay the $2900 to the Money Gram and get a reference number.  He didn't sound like my grandson, so I ask him "how is Betty?' a name I made up.  He said she was OK and in his hotel room.  He also said he had lost his cellphone.
We hung up.  In the meantime, I looked up Money Gram on the internet and  found that it was affiliated to Wal Mart.  When he called back, I told him that we didn't have a Wal Mart and no Money Gram and that the closest WalMart was 2-1/2 hours away and that I could not go.  I told him that he would have
to call his mom.  He said he didn't have enought money on his phone card and ask me to do it for him.
He would call me back again in 15 minutes.  In the meantime I looked up a number for the San Antonio Police Dept. and gave it to him. after he said he lost her number.  Evidentially he called  the police number bacause he called me back in about two minutes and said he would get me.
