This number called me. It was not a scam. It called to inform me that bank cards are being blocked and that I'd have to get my card replaced. I was already aware of this after not being able to pay with debt and had already been to the branch to replace the card.

`so someone has  gotten my  number  and name. interesting being i dont have a scotia credit card.  but i did  happen to apply for a company that does surveys .  and have only used this number for  call backs.  wonder if it has something to  with this company.

Definately a scam!!!  September 25th 2013 I received a call from this number (416) 750-6018.  Computer voice said in voicemail they are calling from scotiabank and to call them immediately to verify a transaction or something like that.   So I called the number they left in their voicemail  (1-+1 800-290-2654) and it is very suspicious. They say that you've reached scotiabank but immediately they have to enter your credit card number.  No other options to speak to a live person or aything - they just want your credit card number.  Total scam.

I got a call from (416) 750-6018 this afternoon,no message was left but I am a scotiabank customer and I frigged up this morning when I called in to activate my new visa.I didn't have the old visa handy and when i went to retrieve it the system timed out and forwarded me to customer service.I did not want to talk with customer service so I hung up and activated online.I believe this is Scotia Bank verifying my activation today.Also,I am on the National do not call list and I told my local agent for Scotia Bank to stop all calls from ScotiaBank telemarketing to my house.I have not received a call since.

ITS A CALL FROM SCOTIA BANK/VISA . People (below) find some real friends to tell them your life stories......not here.

Legit call. Scotiabank calling to verify transaction on my visa debit was me doing it about 5 minutes after putting it though. Security seems to be on the ball.
