I got a call from this number saying they were Scotiabnk and that my card had been compromised and thus they put a limit on the account. I thought it was a scam - they provided a 1800 number (234-0257) to call to have the card replaced. After looking at my online account with no apparent limits I called the number on the website to be safe and they confirmed that my account had a limit on it and that they would be sending a new card in the mail.Very sketchy as neither of these numbers came up in a google search for scotiabank.

oh!.. and i dont deal with scotia bank i dont even have an account with them.

The 2nd call in 4 weeks from the auto message, (416) 750-6018Same thing as mentioned on this page1st call: said "fraud alert" someone using my Scotia card2nd call: "activate my Scotia Credit card and chip etc"I'm not a customer of Scotia never have been.

LOL, if I had a dollar for every person who puts in a complaint to Head Office... NOTHING GETS DONE ABOUT THIS STUFF IN HEAD OFFICE.

This is very annoying! If a message is so important,you would not be put on hold. Now,even when this number shows up,I never answer and my answering machine is always on,but they never leave a message. I have already put a complaint in with the Head Office about another phone number that kept calling. So now,if I do not recognize a number-forget it! There is always the Post Office and if it is so important,they can mail me the information.Then I would check that out with my local branch too,before submitting anything to the writer!
