Optima communications is a marketing firm hired by Scotia to market insurance products such as AD&D, etc. Unsolicited email marketing is not allowed under new legislation so they use marketing firms by phone. Not a scam, simply clean conventional marketing. People who think this is a scam must live under a rock or behind/inside a dumpster. You need to get out MORE!

It said that was from Scotiabank, trying to sell health insurance...to good to be true, or to stupid to believe that. Don't give personal information it is obviously a scam

At 3:35PM on July 05, 2010, I received a call from (416) 640-0651. I picked up the call and said hello but the caller hang up immediately without saying anything. I do not know what the caller was trying to do.

Happened to me too.  I called the number back and the company voice mail is for Optima communications (on behalf of Scotia).  My guess is they are a marketing/sales company.  No voice mail = no answer.
