Received a call from this # this morning. No Caller Id was on the display only the number. When I answered the women on the line asked if she was talking to "and she referenced the name on a bank account". I asked who she was and why she was calling she said she was doing a survey for the RBC. Told her never to call again and hung up. Contacted RBC to report and they indicated that there should be no survey calls on their behalf unless its to follow-up on something related to the account. Just a heads up this is probably a scam how they got the account name (it's very unique) is beyond me.

I too received a call from this number (416) 233-0047. The person was just breathing through the phone which sounded very scary and I said “hello!” two times and I hang up. I went online to reverse the number to see who it is; I see that a lot of other people also have received strange phone call from this number.
The best thing to do is to call the police and report his/her sorry ass. Which I did, I wrote an email and report it through phone. If everyone here to do what I did, I am sure he will put back in jail where he belongs.

(416) 233-0047Called the number (416) 233-1555The girl was actually pretty pleasant and due to "CONFIDENTIALITY REASONS" could not tell me who they were calling on behalf of.I laughed... Confidentiality, and meanwhile YOU have my UNLISTED NUMBER and MY NAME.Also told her that if they can NOT dial a phone themselves, then they should not be in this business.I am SO SICK of Computer dialed marketing, I thought that this type of marketing was IllegalThanks to one of the previous post, I have now been taken off their list
sick of their calls
I am on the National do not call list and they still call. The male caller knew my name and unlisted number. When I asked who was calling, he said it was about a market survey. When I asked what the survey was about, he sighed and hung up. I called back and no answer. I called a few minutes later and the line was busy. I have filed a complaint with CRTC. (Just google National Do not call list and follow the links to file a complaint). Everyone should complain as they are relentless.

You are a Market Researcher, it's your job - that you get paid for - to research. It's my right to tell you that I want my peace and privacy and don't want to be disturbed again. What's wrong with Market Probe Canada calling? Not much, they're just another annoying research/survey company. But when they call using a number that doesn't give the "researched" the convenience to call back and tell them that they don't want to receive calls from them again, that's a problem. I'm sure if we want our voice to be heard, we will find ways to do so. I only find it creepy and suspicious when someone from Market Probe Canada called me to perform a client satisfaction survey and this person knows my full name, the name of my company, and also knows that "this is the name registered for the company". What else does he know? I don't remember him saying he was doing a survey on behalf of the RBC. But then I am a client of the RBC! I did call Market Probe Canada (416) 233-1555, ext 228 for the "supervisor") and left a message to have my number deleted from their call list. I will also call the RBC and ask them what this is about. What a waste of time and energy. Market research should be done in a less annoying manner. Phoning people doesn't work any more. All I think of you market researchers and telemarketers is just one word - nuisance!

Irritated in Newfoundland
I an in Newfoundland and this number called our home three times this evening after 5:00 p.m. The third time, which was at 8:52 Newfoundland time, I picked up. A woman asked for my mother (by her first name only). I told her she no longer lives at this phone number and hung up on her. I smell a scam...
