Received a call from this # this morning. No Caller Id was on the display only the number. When I answered the women on the line asked if she was talking to "and she referenced the name on a bank account". I asked who she was and why she was calling she said she was doing a survey for the RBC. Told her never to call again and hung up. Contacted RBC to report and they indicated that there should be no survey calls on their behalf unless its to follow-up on something related to the account. Just a heads up this is probably a scam how they got the account name (it's very unique) is beyond me.

I too received a call from this number (416) 233-0047. The person was just breathing through the phone which sounded very scary and I said “hello!” two times and I hang up. I went online to reverse the number to see who it is; I see that a lot of other people also have received strange phone call from this number.

The best thing to do is to call the police and report his/her sorry ass. Which I did, I wrote an email and report it through phone. If everyone here to do what I did, I am sure he will put back in jail where he belongs.

Ticked off

Well I did answer the phone, and they did not represent themselves initially, and they should have!  They asked to speak to my husband by his entire full name, which no one uses.  I told them I was his wife and they could speak with me.  The girl refused to give me any information.  I told her there is a very good chance that if this is a company, I have probably put the bill in his name and that I pay it.  She would not represent herself, and therefore I hung up.Extremely ticked off!

Alba

Just got a phone call from (416) 233-0047. The guy on the line could hardly speak English. In between his mumbles I understood RBC and survey. Smelt a rat told him no I was not interested and did not like survey phone calls. I then googled the phone number and came up with this site. Now I know it was a scam.

Anna McMullen

As suggested by another respondent, I phoned Market Probe at (416) 233-1555 (who picked up right away) and asked if they operate (416) 233-0047 (which calls daily, never leaves a message and is always busy when I call back). The man said yes and that he could remove me from the call list. I am a new RBC customer so this is a possibility, as others have reported.

Michelle

I got a call today from them and i had been to the branch locally last week, the teller told me to possibly await a call from market probe as they are doing a survey on customer service, so it is legit, you just have to tell them how the teller did... dont give any personal info like bank numbers to anyone, ever, but these are just a survey to see how the tellers are doing.. no big scam or anything

From alberta

Someone from (416) 233-0047 called my house. The person they asked for was not home. I asked who was calling and they told me they could not give me that information. Really!!!

Creeped out

just answered the call from this number - a man asked for my daughter and when I indicated that she was not home and could I take a message, he answered " that will not be necessary".  Totally creeped me out - glad to see this is not a one-off.
