I have received 3 times this number and no one answeares

I also received this number about 5 times in past week.

If I DON'T answer, my answering machine is activated, but ther is never any message left.

I answered this call TWICE.

The first time:  - I said " hello", there was silence for about 6 or 7 seconds, then a male voice respoded "sorry , I have the wrong number" and he hung up right away, before I had the chance to ask him what number he was trying to reach. (if it was mine, then I would have told him not to bother trying again, because you obviously have the wrong number !)

A couple days  later, I answered it again, same thing happened...he hung up before I had a chance to talk further. (it was the SAME male voice)

If this is a scam, how can they benefit??? I don't understand the purpose of such calls

I mean, are they trying to see if we are home or not?? we can be home even if we don't answer....and if they want to scam, they have to talk to me further right?  Maybe I didn't SOUND right. I am adult male, no accent..... are they targeting Chinese, or a specific group,  for instance??? or OLD people...THAT could be it, they want a senior person that may not have all their faculties...????
