I received a voicemail message from (289) 805-0711, saying I won $2600 toward a Cancun vacation, press 1 to accept. Message didn't mention a company name. PROBABLY A SCAM!! A reverse number lookup says (289) 805-0711 is an Iristel landline, located in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada. The offering is similar to a call reportedly received from 510-229-4504 in California, where the receiver spoke to an agent. The receiver stated the following: [Caller stated they are from "Marketing for Sunset Group".Person calling herself "Patty Weiss" called from "510-229-4504"Said she works for Marketing for Sunset GroupSaid she would transfer my call to some sort of booking agent provided that I meet two qualifications:1: that I am 24 years of age or older2: that I have a valid credit cardWhen I confirmed these two qualifications she transferred me to a woman calling herself "Patty Weiss", the so-called agent.Patty Weiss told me that I had won a lottery which awarded me a prize. The prize was $2600 credit toward a five star vacation at their 60% timeshare resort in Cancun, provided that I sit through a sales presentation to  get me to buy a time share. I was also required to pay approximately 600 dollars in order to claim the prize. When I asked her why the phone number she was calling from was not Cancun's area code she said it was because she was calling from a digital call center located there. I asked her where exactly her company is and she gave me this address:Kulkan BlvKm 7.5 Suite 28Hacienda CommercialCancun Mexico77500I asked about the resort she told me I had won a vacation at. She said it was in its first phase of developmentand that I would instead be staying at one of the following places instead:Sunset RoyalOcean HotelSunset Lagune near "The Admiral Yacht Club"Although I hadn't suggested to her  that I thought so, she said if I didn't believe her company to be legitimate then to go to www.rci.com and read the reviews there. The thing is, that's not the same company. It is a company that she said they do business with. I asked her if she had heard of the Better Business Bureau. She said she had, and that her company was affiliated with Mexico's version of it.She told me her supervisor was named Michael Smith. When I asked to speak with him she said he was not interested in speaking to me. And tried to hang up on me.When I did not hang up I could hear her speaking in the background to someone named "Cathy", complaining about me.This company is a scam. They'll record you giving your credit card info as proof of transaction and bill you for lots of other stuff as you try to "claim your prize". The fact that they are so defensive about their business dealings suggests their degree of sincerity. If you have any sort of common sense, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUNSET GROUP (or their website, "www.m4sunset.com"]
