This guy calls me from work and says I have a grant waiting, his name is Christopher ID #00315. I Googled the number (204) 668-1100 and got this site. This guy sounded African, possilby Kenyan telling me its another 509 scam. He knew my name and address and somehow this was unsettling. He got agitated by my inquiries and hung up.

Just an update. These people are calling from Winnipeg, Mannitoba. I found that out by reverse phone look up. I will be calling Canada and seeing what I can find out from up there.

Okay, first off, Mr Steve Williams, there is NO WAY this is legit. So your probably working for them. Second, as this number appears in several incarnations, it's fake. Allow me to inform you of this...The federal Govt will NEVER ask for banking information, over the phone in relation to any type of refund. You will have submitted this information with your tax return and it will never be verified unless it's in person or a duly sworn agent (like your tax preparer. It will be accessed by any number of need to know sources. A prerequisite for ANY telephonic information is 100% legible and understandable speech. Not discrimination, the law, if the public can not understand you 100% of the time, you don't get the job. I, as with all federal employees, MUST pass this "screening" during interview. Block all anonymous calls who refuse to provide information. "HINT" if they don't let you know the number, they don't deserve a response from you... PERIOD. Lastly, report all these scams to www.gov.com and there you will find all the information out about these scams and where you stimulus check is, and any other FOIA information. it's not fake guys i'll also recieve a call from the same no. and the person who call me saying that i'm approoved to recieve a grant of $5000 and he told me that i'll get my money in next week and i'll provide my banking information and i got my $5000.

got a call from 311, said they were SS giving me 7500$ tax return grant. I went along with it until I called the return number he gave me and it didn't work. I ended up looking this up and immediately cancelling and reopening a new bank account due to it being fraud.

Got a call from this man today! He called my wife's phone and asked for me. My wife stated he needed to speak with me. He called back later asking for my bank acct info i was kinda weiry so i told him i would call him back on monday and he gave me this number. He told me his name was John Smith yea right.!!!!!!! lol.... im work for the goverment and im gonna look into it hopefully we can get John Smith (lol) shut down!
