I'm in Australia and received the Fort L / Bahamas / Orlando honeytrap via an internet pop-up saying I was the millionth random selection and a winner. Nothing to lose in responding with my email address and ph # I thought. This morning I was woken by a very early call and the full-on pushy female couldn't understand why I was not screaming out loud with joy about getting a trip to Florida. After "warming " me up with the itinerary she passed me to a hard-sell male colleague whose task was to get my card details. He started obliquely and not in the manner of a genuine travel agent or discounted offer spruiker : $299 pp fees to settle ; which card ; security # ; at this point I stopped him with the obvious rejoinders about winning versus receiving a heavily subsidised trip and no way was he getting a card # over the phone. He ; offered tickets for wife and me and 2 guests, wanting $1000 fees (4 x 299 = 1000 ??); I was free to sell off the extra 2 or take the cruise twice ; would not email me with fine print before getting the deposit ; stated that Raddison and Carnivale were picking up about $3800 of the $4300 retail value ; protested that they are a legit operation ; would not accept payment at any point but here and now ; asked if I was cash strapped ; was happy to pass my opportunity to the next lucky person in line. So I allowed him to by terminating the call.It looks and sounds like a scam but may be a legit, though distasteful, way of filling berths and beds for the operators, perhaps with hidden costs along the way. If it is a scam why haven't Raddison and Carnivale closed down the astar website by now ? Why haven't law agencies acted? ?Why haven't we heard from people who have successfully received the offer ?

Im located in Wollongong NSW and i was as contatcted by a company called All Seasons Travel on Saturday regarding winning an internet competition that i had never entered. It was a trip id apparently won to Orlando, Florida, Miami & the Bahamas, however they wanted me to pay $299 US per person for some port fee into the Bahamas as well as paying $998 US for something he couldnt really explain. I was then asked for my credit card details for any mastercard or visa and expected to pay the $998 US right there and then. He claimed his name was Greg Phillips and then transferred me to someone else. I believe if id won any such holiday i would not be paying for anything or atleast remember entering!!! After several internet searches seems im proved right. There are alot of forums on such phone calls in the UK and all over Australia so be very very careful!!

They are scammers!! I belong to a modeling website and they tried to pay me with a faulty check and then wanted me to transfer my money to various places around the u. S. So they must be part of some organization or something. More people need to contact the police about them

hi there, I received a call a couble of weeks ago on May. and its the same thing they said me and partner and two guest won a trip to US but we only need to pay 999 USDollar.  I was kind a like it but luckily I found this site of the website about this but I was nearly deposit the money in them.  but they already have my credit card information but too bad I still dont have any money right now until two days from today I was thinking of putting in the money. and I already ring up the bank to cancel my card.  haha.  I nearly regret for not finding this site of the website.  He said his name is Bedro Reyes. He gives me the number to call back and I call back and ask for him and hes there.

I from Canada (SK)

Lisa Lu asked where we were writing from...I signed in as "From Canada - 16 Apr 2009" and I live in Saskatchewan, too.And BTW, Samantha Green from Halifax, NS, of course, if you use your visa with whoever, it will be a legit transaction, because YOU were the one who authorized that payment to a con-travel agency (which BTW may exist as such). When are you going on holidays? Maybe you work for ASTAR!!!!!Sorry..... don't trust you either....Enjoy your trip...???
