These people and three other numbers starting abruptly calling me non-stop last weekend, and they haven't stopped. I tried being polite and telling them that I don't know the person they are looking for, yet the just keep calling, all looking for the same person.
It is illegal for people to make ANY harassing phone calls for debt collection, even if it is the right person. I will be reporting them to Sprint and to my state's Attorney General. I doubt it will do anything, but you never know. If anyone makes any progress, please update the thread.

Apparently this company uses a program that scrambles their phone number so it shows up as a different number each time on caller I.D., and the numbers are reportedly not in service if called back. This type of program is illegal and gets the attention of the FCC when it's reported.Although the company (Global International) is supposedly headquartered in Canada, they supposedly have an office in Williamsville, New York, U.S.A.. This puts them under the jurisdiction of U.S. law, and the Federal Communications Commission. Thanks to the information here I was able to quickly identify the company, call their toll free number +1 800-563-4929) and leave a voice mail for Jeff Carew (VP in charge of collections). I requested my number not be called again, then file a complaint with the FCC after the next call I received from Global. After that I left Mr. Carew a second message letting him know the complaint had been filed. If you have not done so yet, go to the FCC website ( http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm) and file a complaint. You can file the complaint online (recommended) or call them at 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-+1 888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL- FCC (1-+1 888-835-5322) TTY.I've dealt with companies like this before, and providing the FCC with as much information as possible makes it easy for them to take legal action against these type of businesses quickly.Special thanks to Kim for providing so much information about Global International and making it easy to track down and report this company.
