I received several calls from these guys..
When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).  
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.

Just got a call from this number 1-(905) 413-8753, on my telus cell phone. They said to press 1 because I have not complied with a certain order. I did not press 1 and hung up.

I get this all the time too! they start phoning at 8am everyday, just get a dead tone, to wait for response

We live on Vancouver Island and they call us around once a week and have so for around 2 years.  When I told them to remove me from their calling list they hung up on me. I already complained to CRTC, at least 3 months ago, and still nothing.I get the calls at home and not on my cell phone, but I do believe they are hired to use up people's minutes on their plans.  What else would it be?  It is not a legitimate business.

Call police immediately for the harassment

this is a brand new phone number that I just activated.i got similar calls form two different companies 2 hours apart...both numbers appear  on this sitei called this one back on the displayed number and the person who answered refused to disclose the nature of the call and attempted to extract personal info from me. She did say the name of the company was Global.
