If you are a Shaw customer just block this call:1. Lift handset and wait for the dial tone. 2. Press *60 to enter the command options menu. 3. Press the number 3 to activate Selective Call Blocking. 4. Key in the # sign. 5. Enter the phone number to block (1-(905) 310-2255). 6. Press the # sign.Then you are FREEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Shaw told me how to block the number.  If you have Shaw and have the selective call service in your plan, dial *60 to get into the menu.  Listen to everything carefully, it can be confusing.  Option 3 turns the service on and off, option # allows you to add a number to the list.  DO NOT use the area code with a 310 number or it will not work.  Just block 310-2255 and it should work.  Make sure you turn the service on (option 3) if it isn't already or the number will just sit on the list, but not do anything.  He did say 310 numbers can be tricky, but it SHOULD work if you don't use the area code.  Also he added us to the "do not call list," (DNCL) which you can do yourself at 1-+1 866-580-3625 or their website.  They have to remove you from their list within 1 month.  He said if those don't work just 310-2255 and tell them to stop calling and they are obligated to take you off the list.  I tried the selective call thing and I'm hoping it works.  Of note, there are exemptions to the DNCL; if you do business with a company or did in the last 18 months, they can still call (if you have/had another telus line they will be exempt), charties, political parties, and newspapers can call too.  Good luck.

I calledTelus Security at 1-+1 800-567-0000 and asked to be put on the do not call list.

Call from (905) 310-2255 on May 7, 2008 at 1:47 p.m. and May 8 2008 at 12:30 p.m.  No messages left on answering machine.
