Called 2010-11-23 8:10 my wife answered on speaker phone because any time I pick up it is dead air. He started asking my wife for me and as soon as I said this is he, the man hung up. I called back and left a message using my share of choice language..

If you've signed up for a Scene card, your information was passed along to Scotia Bank and the automated system is phoning you, even though they may no be anyone (or anything) on the other end if you do answer it. Scotia Bank actually owns Scene so they aren't technically giving your information away, and it's apparently in the waiver that Scotia will use the information to solicit you information

they screwed up my attempts to set up a tax savings account, couldn't figure out how to cash a cheque after 3 weeks and 5 people, so I requested my account / file be deleted and no more communications, which they promptly replied with telemarket / spamming my cell phone

so I encourage you all to do the same thing I do, when they call send them 25 to 50 emails back to se***ce@scotiaitrade.com ....

I started gettng these calls too, every time at 6:08pm.  Followed "scotiabanker"s advice and logged in scene.ca and saw that I was automatically set up to receive e-mails, snail mails and telemarketers.  So, unsubscribed from all of those and changed my phone # to something bogus.  Most people never answer 800, 888 etc calls.  I wish companies wouold realize this and stop archaic telemarketing.
  • Grow up. For real.
I can just tell by your post that your not the empathetic type. Which in all honesty is fine. What your saying makes no sense, "You gotta teach them a lesson not to take this job" So by being a smart [***] and asking for the rep's house number is going to teach them a lesson? lol They just going to press call again.People work to live and they do not think like you Dave (under the impression 'that is wrong calling people like this, I should quit') come on now you know that.Is it right for them to call you at those times and interupt some good ol home cooked meals Hell No, I can under being pissed. I'm just saying do something about it!! If you woud like the DNC number let me know. Because your type that rep's love to call back. Vicious cycle I know, I know. Cheers

Have been getting these calls from someone who needs to get him/herself a REAL JOB!These people are SCUM, calling and trying to sell stuff that people don't need / want.If I need shoes I go to a shoe store. If I need "financial services" I go to a CREDIT UNION (any amount deposited is 100% Government guaranteed). I USED to bank with several banks --- NO MORE they only have a SMALL amount guaranteed in case the bank goes broke (BANKS do go broke!!!!) and specially SCOTIABANK could very well go broke with the kind of business practices they use with their UNLISTED 1-888-882-3811 phone number!!!!! They are losing customers all over the place with this kind of tactics!!!SCOTIABANK = a "bank" NOT to be TRUSTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
