Courtesy call. We dont deal with Scotia at all. I keep getting called from this number. It is infact scotiabank. I asked to be put on the no call list, but they called back. I called customer service and was told the no call list stops canadian scotiabank people from calling you. This number is out of a call center, somewhere in washington or something, therefore the no call list doesnt effect them. I started to get calls telling me I won a free cruise, these calls came in for over a week. When I called it back to say "Get lost" a recording would advise of their business hours - which I took into consideration when I called - I am a smart woman, duh, why would I call after hours. Well finally managed to stop that call and their annoying messages left on my answering machine to suddenly get calls from this number. Because it's unknown to me I never answer but they also never leave a message. I receive calls at least twice a day. Enough's enough Call them TOLL FREE - leave NASTY messages - again and again and.....................................................they pay for each message left. One day they may stop I did as a few others have done and just accepted the credit card offer. After I did this the calls stopped immediately. I have not decided if I should keep the card or just cut it up, but I suppose it is always good to have an extra credit card just in case. So maybe some of you should do the same thing and just accept the card since they are unlikely to stop calling unless you do. I know it seems like blackmail.. but what can you do :( they have called every day this week and i have not answered. they don't seem to get the picture. so how about this? The next time they call, i s**t you not, i will insist that they cancel both of my scotiabank visa cards immediately. I am sure they will not do it, probably don't even have the authority, but i will have a battle of wits showdown with them. I will insist that they transfer me to someone who can cancel my account and then i will follow through. Are you listening scotiabank? I hate you! This is not how you develop long lasting customer relationships. I urge all of you to follow suit. You don't need scotiabank. There are plenty of other banks competing for your business. Let's send a clear message that it is not ok to autodial us and offer us stuff we don't want.PFO and GFY
