They call me all the time. They are a debt collector, URS or United Recovery System. I don't owe them anything any more, but they still call anyway. Maybe they just like the sound of my voice. I have assembled a list of the numbers they have used to call my cell phone, and my husband's cell phone. Here ya go!713-266-9876800-326-3446800-326-8040800-662-1877800-891-5035866-815-0559866-815-3211866-815-8811866-815-9333866-891-6935866-891-6936866-891-6937866-891-6939888-702-2423888-733-1243888-733-1264888-733-1266888-733-1288888-763-2423888-763-2427888-763-2429It seems like I add a new one every day.
They keep hanging up on me as soon as I answer the Phone
A woman asked for my wife by name.
"She's not here."
Trying to reach your neighbor on your (correctly named) street.
"Who is it?"
Gave husband and wife names I didn't know.
"I don't know them." (True actually, but I wouldn't have told if I did.)
Weird. It seemed to me what you might expect from a collection agency tracking someone down.
Same number as above that also uses 800-622-1877 United Recovery Systems. This organization has somehow obtained information about a bank card debt that was settled more than 10 years ago. They have sent me letters regarding this. My credit reports show this matter to be cleared and and satisfied. If, however one responds, the matter becomes "open" again on your credit report and will negatively impact your credit score regardless of the documentation that you have. They will "offer" a reduced "settlement" amount. URS has been using old "lead lists" and their collection agents are paid on commission. Be forwarned. If you do have an outstanding debt, go to the credditor directly and settle. Do not deal with organzation.
Just got a call for a Yvonne Guzman. I said no one here by that name and asked what number he had dialed. He read back my number and said he was sorry.
